New Entity to Target Federal Government Radioactive & Hazmat Waste, Remediation Projects While Providing Jobs for Returning Vets & Disabled Vets

TUCSON, ARIZONA (February 26, 2007) – MHF Logistical Solutions, Inc. (MHF-LS), a leading provider of packaging, transportation and technical services for generators and shippers of radioactive, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, materials and byproducts, and Advanced Environmental Solutions, Inc. (AES), a service disabled veteran-owned environmental consulting, hazardous industrial waste management and remediation company, said today that they have formed a joint venture to be known as AES Logistical Solutions, LLC.

The new entity, to be majority-owned by AES, will pursue federal government contracting programs designed to help service disabled veterans.

AES Logistical Solutions will be based in Worcester, Massachusetts, also home to one of MHF-LS’ transload facilities where cargo is moved intermodally between truck and train conveyances.

MHF-LS and AES made the announcement at the Waste Management Symposium, the nuclear waste industry’s premier conference, meeting here this week.

“We’re excited by the new opportunities that our alliance with AES offers,” said Richard Santello, MHF-LS president and CEO. “AES Logistical Solutions will be able to work directly for federal government agencies while MHF-LS continues its long-standing ties with federal prime contractors.”

William Picard, the founder and president of AES who is a Vietnam Era service disabled veteran, said the collaboration will provide a new level of service to AES’ federal government clients.

“The alliance between AES and MHF-LS will give the U.S. Department of Defense and other government departments and agencies the ability to work with a uniquely qualified service disabled veteran-owned company,” Picard said. “MHF-LS’ strong financial backing, on-site management experience and transportation and disposal expertise will allow the new venture to offer comprehensive, innovative strategies for the safe and cost-effective packaging, transportation and disposal of hazardous materials.”

Picard also stressed another mission for the new entity: To provide employment opportunities for returning veterans and service disabled veterans.

“Right now, in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere, thousands of young men and women are learning the skills of logistics and materials management,” Picard said. “AES Logistical Solutions will be just one company, but we will take very seriously the goal of providing jobs to vets. They have sacrificed for their country, and we will do what we can to help them succeed in their post-military careers.”
